Seal Beach Pump Station Replacement Project
Seal Beach Pump Station Replacement Project
Seal Beach, California
In Progress
The new Seal Beach Pump Station is located at the intersection of Seal Beach Blvd. and Westminster Blvd. and comprises the full replacement of a 1970’s era pump station to increase capacity and reliability. The project includes wet wells and below-grade pump room, electrical & battery room, liquid phase odor control, vapor phase odor control, & emergency generator housed in four separate buildings.
SLO’s design goal for the new pump station is to at once serve the critical functional needs of the project while also paying tribute to the traditional architecture of the City of Seal Beach. Given the highly visible location and prominent corner site, the architectural design is inspired by early Spanish Mission Style architecture as seen most notably in the original Seal Beach City Hall built in 1929. In this way the client and community benefi t not only from the infrastructural improvement, but also from the creation of an architectural landmark which harkens to the City’s architectural heritage.
