Pasadena Unified School District Feasibility Assessments and Facility Studies

Pasadena, California

We have conducted feasibility assessments and facility studies for three Pasadena Unified School District Campuses: Altadena Elementary, Willard Elementary, and Marshall Fundamental School. The scope of the studies included the physical condition of the campuses, space utilization, adaptability for future needs and programs, aesthetic quality, and energy efficiency.

Our study aimed to meet the “Guiding Principles for 21st Century Learning Environments,” included in the Educational Master Plan (EMP); the recommendations and improvements that we identified are intended to “propel all teachers and students toward high performance in a changing world.” And the upgrades can provide the necessary “spaces and technological infrastructures capable of connecting people as learners and leaders.”

Additionally, our efforts were guided by the fact that schools and public buildings built Net Zero Energy (NZE) are more resilient and stronger in the face of disasters and the impacts of climate change. They can become important centers for the community with reliable power, heating/cooling sources, and shelter.
